When you create Google Workspace mailboxes in Primeforge, the mailbox credentials can be exported as a CSV file. The exported CSV includes an App Password for each mailbox.
This article explains what the App Password is, why it is provided, how to use it, and how it differs from OAuth.
A Google App Password is a unique password that allows an application or email client to authenticate with a Google Workspace mailbox without using the mailbox's regular Google account password.
For Primeforge Google Workspace mailboxes, the App Password is already generated as part of the mailbox setup and is included in the mailbox CSV export.
You do not need to manually create an App Password in Google for these Primeforge mailboxes.
You can find the App Password by exporting your Primeforge mailboxes.
Open your Primeforge workspace.
Go to your mailboxes.
Select the mailboxes you want to export.
Export the mailbox information as a CSV file.
Open the downloaded CSV.
Locate the App Password column.
Each mailbox will have its corresponding App Password listed in the CSV.
The App Password is associated with that specific mailbox, so make sure you use the correct App Password for the corresponding email address.
Use the mailbox email address together with its App Password when connecting the Primeforge mailbox to a service that supports password-based Google authentication.

The App Password should be used instead of the mailbox's regular Google password.
Primeforge mailboxes can be used with different authentication methods depending on the application or integration.
OAuth allows you to authenticate through Google's authorization flow.
Instead of providing an email address and password directly to the application, you sign in with Google and authorize the application to access the mailbox.
OAuth is generally the preferred authentication method when it is supported by the application.
An App Password is a credential that can be entered directly into an application that supports password-based authentication.
For Primeforge mailboxes, the App Password is provided in the CSV export, so you can use the credentials directly without manually generating an App Password through the Google Account settings.

Some third-party applications and email tools do not support Google's OAuth authentication flow for the specific connection you are trying to configure.
In those cases, the App Password allows you to authenticate the Primeforge mailbox using the credentials provided in the CSV export.
This makes it easier to connect your Primeforge mailboxes to external tools without needing to retrieve or generate additional credentials manually.
When connecting a Primeforge mailbox, make sure you use:
The correct mailbox email address.
The App Password belonging to that mailbox.
The App Password from the latest CSV export.
Do not use the regular Google account password in place of the App Password.
Treat the Primeforge CSV export as sensitive information because it contains mailbox credentials.
Do not:
Share the CSV publicly.
Upload it to unsecured websites.
Send it to people who do not need access.
Store it in an unsecured location.
If you no longer need the exported credentials, delete the CSV from locations where it is not required.
The App Password and the regular Google password serve different purposes.
The Google account password is used to sign in to the Google account.
The App Password is a separate credential intended for application authentication.
When a third-party application asks for the mailbox password and you are using the Primeforge CSV credentials, enter the App Password from the CSV.
