Warmforge may automatically suspend a mailbox when it detects an issue that could affect your warmup or cause emails to bounce.
Most suspensions are related to the domain, mailbox connection, DNS configuration, blacklists, or email bounces.
Here are the most common suspension reasons:
Warmforge does not allow warmups on parked domains.
If your domain is parked, the mailboxes under that domain will be suspended automatically.
To resolve this:
Make sure the domain is no longer parked.
Once the domain is no longer parked, Warmforge will automatically unsuspend the affected mailboxes.
A mailbox can be suspended if Warmforge can no longer connect to it.
For SMTP connections, this can happen if:
The username or password is incorrect
The password was changed
The SMTP host or other connection details changed
The mailbox credentials are no longer valid
For OAuth connections, the OAuth credentials may have expired or otherwise become invalid.
Make sure the mailbox connection is still active and that the credentials or OAuth authorization are valid.
After fixing the connection issue, contact support to have the mailbox unsuspended.
Incorrect DNS configuration can prevent a mailbox from working correctly and may result in suspension.
For example:
The domain's nameservers are pointing somewhere other than Forge or wherever the mailboxes are supposed to be hosted
Required DNS records are missing
The SPF record is missing or incorrectly configured
Other required mail records are not present
If you recently changed your nameservers or DNS provider, check that the domain is still pointing to the correct nameservers and that the required DNS records are present.
Once the DNS issue has been resolved, contact support to have the mailbox unsuspended.
Warmforge can suspend a mailbox when it detects that emails sent from or received by the mailbox are causing bounces.
This helps prevent the mailbox from continuing to generate more bounces.
For example, a mailbox may be suspended if:
An email sent from the mailbox bounces because of an issue on the sender side
An incoming email cannot be delivered correctly and the resulting bounce is sent back to the original sender
If your mailbox was recently sending or receiving emails that bounced, check the bounce message to identify what is causing the failure.
Make sure the underlying issue has been resolved before contacting support to have the mailbox unsuspended.
A mailbox or its domain may also be suspended if it is detected on severe email blacklists.
If this happens, check your mailbox and domain against relevant blacklist databases and resolve the listing where possible.
Once the blacklist issue has been resolved, contact support to have the mailbox unsuspended.
Before contacting support, check the following:
Is your domain parked? Warmforge doesn't support warmups on parked domains. Make sure the domain is no longer parked.
Are your nameservers correct? Make sure they haven't been changed or accidentally pointed elsewhere.
Is your DNS configured correctly? Check that the required records, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC are present.
Is the mailbox connection working? For SMTP, verify the connection details and credentials. For OAuth, make sure the authorization is still valid.
Have your emails been bouncing? Check recent bounce messages for the cause.
Is the mailbox or domain severely blacklisted? Check for blacklist listings that could affect deliverability.
In most cases, fixing the underlying issue does not automatically unsuspend the mailbox. Make sure the issue is resolved first, then contact support to have the mailbox unsuspended.
The exception is a parked-domain suspension. Once the domain is no longer parked, the mailbox will be automatically unsuspended.
Warmforge can send you an email when one of your mailboxes is suspended.
To enable this notification:
Go to Settings in Warmforge.
Open Notifications.
Enable Mailbox suspended.
This makes it easier to catch suspension issues without having to regularly check your mailboxes manually.
