Connection Notes allow you to add a personalized message when sending LinkedIn connection requests through Multichannel sequences.
Salesforge supports Connection Notes for LinkedIn connection request steps, but how the note is sent depends on the LinkedIn account type connected to the sender profile.
A Connection Note is the short message that can be included with a LinkedIn connection request.
For example:
Hey {{firstName}}, noticed your work in {{industry}}. Thought it would be great to connect and follow what you’re building.
Connection Notes are useful when you want to make your connection request feel more relevant and personalized.
Salesforge supports Connection Notes up to 300 characters.
However, the actual note limit depends on whether the LinkedIn account is Free or Premium.
Free LinkedIn accounts have stricter limits for Connection Notes.
For Free LinkedIn accounts:
Notes up to 200 characters can be sent with the connection request.
Notes longer than 200 characters will be skipped.
The connection request will still be sent without the note.
This means the sequence will not fail just because the note is too long for a Free LinkedIn account.
If your Connection Note is longer than the allowed Free account limit, Salesforge will still send the LinkedIn connection request, but the note will not be included.
For example, if this note exceeds the Free account limit:
Hey John, saw your work in B2B SaaS and thought it would be great to connect. We help teams improve outbound workflows and I’d love to follow your updates here.
Salesforge will send the connection request without the note.
Free LinkedIn accounts may also have monthly limits on how many connection notes can be sent.
If the monthly note limit is reached, Salesforge will continue sending LinkedIn connection requests, but without notes.
This helps keep your Multichannel sequence running instead of stopping outreach because a note cannot be included.
Premium LinkedIn accounts can send Connection Notes up to 300 characters.
For Premium LinkedIn accounts:
Notes up to 300 characters can be included.
Notes over 300 characters should be shortened before use.
If the note is within the allowed limit, Salesforge will include it with the connection request.
Premium accounts are better suited for campaigns where personalized LinkedIn connection notes are important.

What happens if the note cannot be sent?
Free account | Up to 200 characters | The connection request is sent without the note |
Premium account | Up to 300 characters | The note is included if it is within the limit |
No.
If the Connection Note cannot be sent because it is too long or because the monthly note limit has been reached, Salesforge will still send the LinkedIn connection request without the note.
This helps avoid unnecessary interruptions in your Multichannel sequences.
To get the best results, keep your Connection Notes short, clear, and personalized.
Recommended guidelines:
For Free LinkedIn accounts, keep notes under 200 characters.
For Premium LinkedIn accounts, keep notes under 300 characters.
Use personalization variables where relevant.
Avoid long pitches in the connection note.
Keep the message natural and easy to read.
A good Connection Note should quickly answer:
Why are you reaching out?
Why is it relevant to the person?
Why should they accept?
Hey {{firstName}}, noticed your work in {{industry}}. Thought it would be great to connect and follow what you’re building.
This note is short, personalized, and suitable for most LinkedIn connection request flows.
Connection Notes in Multichannel allow you to include a personalized message with LinkedIn connection requests.
Salesforge supports notes up to 300 characters, but the behavior depends on the LinkedIn account type:
Free LinkedIn accounts can send notes up to 200 characters.
Premium LinkedIn accounts can send notes up to 300 characters.
If a note cannot be sent, Salesforge will still send the connection request without the note.
This helps keep your Multichannel outreach running smoothly while respecting LinkedIn account limits.
